MY PAGE DOESN'T SHOW UP! |

If
you have trouble finding your Frontpage:
Be sure when you type in your page name (such as "art003.html")
after the last slash in your PSU URL address that THAT
IS THE EXACT NAME OF YOUR PAGE.
Sometimes Mozilla Composer and other programs automatically
assign ".html" or ".htm"
to the end of your page name. This can cause great confusion.
You can check the title of you page by looking on the
desktop, via My Computer, look for your art 003 folder
and check the title of the page.
If you page is called "art003.html.html" you
can type "art003.html.html" after the last
slash.
Or ropen the page, re-save it without typing the .html
and resend it to the portal.
If
your links do not work:
Be sure the link box has exactly the same name as the
title of the page.

and check the title of the page. Open the page that has
the link, highlight the link and change the name of the
link in the link box so that it matches the name of the
page you connecting to or and change the name of the link
or select Choose File and browse till you find your .html
page in your art003 folder. If its not in your art003
folder that would also be your problem!
EXAMPLE:
Assignment 3 Problem:
IF when you open your page on the web, and click on Assignment
3 on your Frontpage,
but your assignment 3 page does not show up:
1.) Check to make sure you assignment 3 is saved in the
same file as your art003 page...all pages are in the same
folder (your art003 folder)
If not move to the same folder, re-save, re-import pics,
and resend to portal.
2.) Open you art003.html (frontpage) highlight the link
that is a problem.
Go to the link box, delete the link that is there.
Choose File and browse in your art003 folder till you
see your assignment 3 page.
This will make a correct link. You will need to resend
both .htmls pages to the PSU portal the art003 and your
assignment 3.

Most
problems posting webpages are problems with pictures
not showing up or links not working, These are usually
minor errors which are easily fixed but can be very
annoying and seem impossible at times.
1.) Make sure everything in the same folder
2.) Check for exact matches in titles, spelling, typos,
invisable spaces, strange characters
3.) Read help pages above
4.) See Home page for scheduled Demos
5.) If you cannot find the problem, do not stay up
all night, but quit for a while,
and try it again another day! |
