HELP -- MY IMAGES ARE NOT SHOWING UP!

THINGS TO CHECK IF YOUR IMAGES DO NOT SHOW UP after you send everything to the portal:
(sometimes they show up for you, on your own computer, but will not show up on other computers!)

To correct the most common problems with images not showing up:

1.) Check to make sure your images are saved correctly.
Images files are best saved as jpgs (not .spp or .psd files)
(if not, re-save as jpgs or see
Image File Size)
Ideally, the titles of your image files should be all lowercase with no strange characters or spaces.
Example of a bad.jpg title: "Flower/w Bee?.JPG"
Example of a good.jpg title: "flowerbee.jpg"
If your jpgs have spaces or caps in the titles,
Re-name your files and continue with all the steps below.

2.) Make sure all the .jpg images you inserted into the webpage are in the same folder as the html (webpage) This should be in your art003 folder, and there should be no subfolders!
IF your files are not in the same folder, move the .jpgs and .htmls that you want to post on the internet to the same folder, the art003 folder.

3.) Open your html page in (Mozilla Composer or Dreamweaver) and delete all the .jpg images.

4.) Resave your .html Webpage with no pictures in it. (even though it sounds silly.)
Make sure it is savin in your art003 folder.

5.) Re-INSERT your .jpg images into your .html webpage.
(Make sure when you re-insert it, the file you are re-inserting is inside your art003 folder)

6.) Resave the .html webpage. Make sure it is saving in your art003 folder.

7.) RESEND the .htmls webpage and all the .jpgs images that you inserted into the webpage to the PSU portal.
see HOW TO POST YOUR WEBPAGES TO PENN STATE'S WEBSPACE

9.) Even though it sounds silly QUIT your Browser.(Quit Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla or what you use to view your webpage on the internet)

10.) Re-open your browser and find your webpage to see if your images show up okay now.
It is also a good idea to check to see if your images show up on a different computer, or ask someone in yoru group to check it for you if you do not have access to another computer.

Fix 2.) ONLY after you go through all the steps above and your images if do not to show up:
1.) Open your html page in Mozilla Composer
2.) Double click on the image(s) that will not show up.
3.) A box that says the location will appear, it states the location where it is looking for the image.
Ideally it would simply have the the name of the image file you interted.
But if it gives a long list of folders in front of the file name,
you can just delete everything till you get to the title of the jpg.
Example may look like this:
file:///DriveC:/Documents%20and%20Settings/My%20Documents/art003/flower.jpg
delete everything till all it says is: flower.jpg
4.) Resave the html file, make sure to save it in the art003 folder
5.) RESEND the html and all the jpgs to the PSU portal.

6.) Even though it sounds silly QUIT your Browser.(Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla or what youuse to view your webpage on the internet)
7.) Re-open your browser and find you Webpage to see if your images show up okay now.

Fix 3.) ONLY after you go through all the steps above and your images if do not to show up:
Ppen your Image in Photoshop or a photo editing software and make sure the MODE IS RGB MODE

not CMYK or Index.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!
