ADJUSTING
IMAGES IN PHOTOSHOP
These
are very basic Photoshop procedures to improve photographs.
Spend
some time with the program to get to know more options.

Photoshop is >HELP
1.)
Open Photoshop
2.) Under File, scroll to Open
3.) Browse until you find the chosen photo.
Click on the photo and hit Open.
To
Crop: In the the toolbox on the top left is dotted
box, this is selection box.
You can select an area and under Image / Crop
To Adjust Brightness and/or Colors:
Image/Adjustments/Levels
The right is light. the left is dark, the center are
mid levels.
There 3 are little triangles below the graph. You can click
on the triangles and slowly drag them to make you image lighter
or darker or giveit more or less contrast.
make
changes hit OK.
Layers (menu under Windows)
Layers can be added, also anytime you past anything inot Photoshop
document it automatically adds a layer.
You can only work on one layer at a time.
Layers can be made invisible or transperarent to varying degrees.
Anytime you work in layers save as a photoshop document as well
as a jpg for the Web.
Saving a jpg or most other options will flatten your image andyou
will lose to abilty go back and make any changes.
TIP
1:
The HISTORY menu under Windows.
Allows
you to back up many steps,
if you are experiementing and change your mind or make a mistake.
click on a procedure above the last until you backtrack to where
you want to be.
TIP
2:
If
a procedure does not work, check your selection area, you may
have an otehr area selected, or even another
layer.
Try option A (select all) and then try again
TIP 3:
After many procedures you need to click on the arrow in the
toolbox.
If you seem stuck, can not move on, or deselect,
click on the arrow in the tool box or outside the picture area.
