We have Poser and Lifeforms in our computer lab.

Lifeforms seems more relevant to dancers and choreographers.
The user has more control over the timeline in Lifeforms. We have the
studio version and it includes libraries of premade movements. This is
very helpful to those who are learning.

Poser is suited better to nicely rendered animation sequences. Poser has
dolphins and cats and dogs as characters too. It is a beautiful interface
and has some very nice "skins" for the characters. It is a beautiful
program.
