Hi Greville

You seem to have inspired some fairly well qualified responses to your post
about your group project on 'the effects of technology on the choreographic
process'. Tell me more about your dissertation on 'The architectural use of
technology in dance'. Do you mean the spatial rendering abilities of
digital media? VRML? Projected space? ... or the architectural
theory/criticism of form and movement? How do you anticipate exploring the
noise/collision between digital and analog media? There is an edge
condition or interface between real space and the virtual space that you
describe that sets up a complex series of issues which cannot be glossed
over. I guess you have considered this ... what have you come up with?

Talk to me.

I am currently in my final year of a BA (Hons) degree at King Alfred's
College in Winchester (UK), and for my dissertation I have been
conducting a study on 'The architectural use of technology in dance',
and this will take the form of a 25 minute performance. I am looking
specifically at differing notions of virtual space - going from 'purely
human' movement to 'purely technological' movement.
