"How long without hearing from her?"
A slight
frown traced Gallett's brows then. "I don't know," she said softly. "I
won't contact her. She knows I won't and that she'll have to message us.
I could ruin something, interfere, so we'll maintain silence, but she'll
report in."
"If
she can. If she thinks it's wise."
"Yes."
"So
we wait."
"Yes."
"I
think Ince is rider so she never has to do the hard part."
Gallett
laughed her sudden, joyous laugh, tossing her face up to the cold gray
sky. Her arm came about my shoulders and she squeezed me to her. "Come
along. We'll get out of the wind."
