The
chamber forms a portion of one level of an ellipsoidal structure with no windows
breaching its external wall. To compensate for a lack of view this section
of the wall displays a variety of patterns, scenes, and imaginative creations
by artists past and present.
Following
the usual practice, occupants may schedule selections, change and cancel them
at will.
Views,
through windows real or screened, are believed to increase productivity and
decrease irritability. They restore and inspire.
Whatever
the content of the screened images and visual sequences they are all made
visible through the orchestration of thousands of light-emitting nozzles.
Each nozzle has been designed and programmed to emit a specific cluster of
wavelengths and intensities.
These
many beams are caught just after they are emitted by a number of filters which
bend, weave, spray, twist, augment, refocus, and in other ways alter them
and cause them to interact.
The
only limits are in the brains of light sculptors. The best of these are ever
in demand and are able to command high prices. There are a number of avid
light sculpture collectors. Some of their prized possessions can be seen during
light sculpture festivals.
