Stanley Lake and McGowan Peak
Copyright (c) 1995 by Patricia Mae Young
McGowan Peak rises precipitously from Stanley Lake, its crevasses and peaks reflected in the rippled waters, its grey granite hard against the blue of the soft sky. It's the middle of June and there's still plenty of snow just a few hundred feet up the peak. The breeze off the water is brisk with the memories of winter.
