Pettit Lake & McDonald Peak

Copyright (c) 1995 by Patricia Mae Young

Trailheads at Pettit Lake lead hikers, backpackers, and horseback riders into the high country wilderness area with its Alpine Lakes, roaring streams, silent meadows and granit peaks. Trails lead you past Yellow Belly and Farley Lakes, over Sand Mountain Pass, along Vernon and Edna Lakes, through Ten-Lake Basin, up to the heart of the wilderness at Spangle Lakes, down to the river canyon, and back up over the Sawtooth Crest. Climbers can scale McDonald Peak.
