Information About Watercolors

Watercolors are unique original paintings. A mixture of pigments, gum Arabic, and preservatives are used to create the images. These paints are applied using varying amounts of solvent-water. They can be applied dry, wet on wet, dry on wet, or in any combination of fluidity.

The white in a transparent watercolor comes from the paper. No white pigments are used. White pigments tend to be cloudy and opaque, interfering with the special quality of transparent colors. These colors must be applied surely, quickly and yet with control to avoid becoming "muddy".

When you purchase an original watercolor you are buying a one of a kind original. How long does an original take to create.? Years of study, often days of drawing, sometimes only moments to spoil.

All images are the exclusive property of Mark Kaufman, Esq. including all rights to reproduction and distribution in any form. The Gods and Goddesses of the Arts shall curse you as will the minions of the law if you copy or otherwise use them without permission. Worse still I'll paint your picture in some horribly compromising pose and distribute it to your nearest and dearest-or your boss.
