Hi Folks,

Lets move this to talk@art.net. Thanks.

As for how the Internet will effect artists in the future,
I feel that it's already happening.

Artists are discovering new types of art other artists
are creating which can only increase the ideas the artist
may have for creating new works. It will also give artists
the chance to talk together and discover new and better
mediums to work with (such as better paints or a new imaging
program).

The web also gives artists a chance to work in a world of many
dimensions, not just the 3 we work with today. Look at some of
sito's projects such as HyGrid...

I also expect that we will see more multimedia collaberations
happening between artist on the Internet via the web.

The Internet and web will play a major role in helping art
to evolve because more artists will get exposure than ever before.
Artists will not need to go through famous museums and galleries
to get their works shown to the masses. We will also find that
the art power pyramid of today will crumble... in that the masses
(instead of just a few people) will determine what is really
awesome art and who the famous artists of our future will be.

I have always thought that art depicts where people are in evolution.
It is also a tool used to help people evolve by introducing new
concepts and ways of thinking. So I expect that our minds will
evolve along with art.

And it's going to be *awesome*! :)
