directories and such

Hi,
Just trying to get some guidance on how to proceed with my studio set up.
I have been studying HTML programming and am ready to make my document, but
don't know what to do with the directory situation at my studio site. I'm
assuming that I need to create some directories to ftp my files to, but is
there a formula for this ? I mean - I can figure out how to MAKE a
directory, but not sure if I need to call them something special. Do I need
to create directories that are named "bin" or "hash" or something? I really
could use some help. There is definately something missing in my line of
thinking about the next step I need to take.

Also, I would like to make a test html document - so is there a way I can
upload a test document to my studio (to see if the html is correct) without
everyone seeing it???
