New Gallery Reclaims Cultural Soul of Little Havana

Miami, FL?The public is cordially invited to attend the opening of the Little Havana Art Gallery, a new space for decorative and fine art in the cultural heart of Little Havana. The opening reception is on:

Saturday, January 31, from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Little Havana Art Gallery located at 1206 SW 2nd Street in Miami.

The first show is a retrospective of the work of Cuban exile painter Carlos Cortada. The Little Havana Art Gallery will primarily feature the work of local Cuban exile artists, as well as that of artists of other nationalities.

The philosophy of the gallery is that culture is an important element in economic and community development. ?Community is created by people living and working there,? says gallery owner Carlos Cortada. ?Little Havana is the fount of Cuban-American and exile experience. It?s the place where many of us got our start. It is only fitting that we return.? Cortada hopes that other galleries and arts groups will join him in the return to Little Havana.
