Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives

from mt olives

The view from the Mount of Olives shows the City of Jerusalem
with the ancient Jewish cemetery in the foreground. In the center of the picture
are the Temple Mount and the Old City. The artist renders the extraordinary effect
of light on a clear summer's day, reflecting different colors off the pink, yellow, tan
and white stones of the buildings. All of Jerusalem glitters with a supernal light
pulsing from the Old City into the sky.
A four-page description by the artist accompanies every lithograph.

by Professor Michael Avi-Yonah, the artist's father. Depicted is the blue-white

to the right, are the four towers of the Antonia Fortress. The artist renders the special aura
