Don't Fear the Dread of the Night
acrylics on canvas
26" x 62" (66
x 158 cm)
From
the phrase in Psalms 91:5
לא תירא מפחד לילה
Inspired by
the IDF invasion of Gaza,
the eerie
colors of night-time photography
and the
camouflaged faces of the soldiers.
Antilogue #26 - Vortex
airbrushed acrylics on canvas
"Hold
my hand as we drown together into
the
Black Hole of Oblivion"
Made during the Gush Katif expulsion
with a gestalt suggestion
of the already forgotten
"architects"
who caused this calamity.
Eyeless Peace Doves in the
Middle
East
airbrushed
acrylics on canvas
20" x 20" (51 x
51 cm)
The Doves are a
universal symbol
for purveying Peace but when the painting
is turned upside down something
very ominous and catastrophic happens,

Ahmadinejad and a
nuclear
explosion
Dreaming
about Zionism
and the truncated Jewish Star
mixed materials and fly screens on
canvas
37" x 24" (93 x 63 cm)
Zionism - to rephrase Herzl -
if we don’t want and value it,
will return to be only a dream
or even a nightmare.
Making
the Green Line in Jerusalem
mixed
materials on canvas
20"
x 27" (50
x 70 cm)
A canvas representing an abstract vision of
the city of Jerusalem
was slashed by vandals
which caused me
to recreate and collage it
against a
perforated screen painted in green -
a symbol for the
divided city
that the enemies
of Israel would like to realize.

A
sardonic view of Isaiah 11:6 prophecy: "A wolf and lamb will live
(peaceably)
together", referring to Israel's (the lamb) future relation to its
enemies, who
will
be around but won't (be able to) harm. The problem NOW is that the
"wolf" in
the painting
has not yet read Isaiah. Poor lamb!
