The armoured fist crushing the Bill of Rights represents the political and religious Right trying to impose their ideas and beliefs on the American people by revising our laws and our educational system, a system that allows us to think and believe differently. This sculpture is a protest against their invasion into the way our country is governed.
In recorded history there have always been groups who thought that only their way was "right": the Crusaders, the English kings, Marx and Engels, Hitler and the Nazis, and Mao. They all had bibles eith dogma describing the "right" way for all people to think. Mein Kampf, the Little Red Book, the Holy Bible and the Koran are examples.
Today the political and religious Right are trying to impose their agenda on our country. We must not let them destroy the freedoms given us by the Bill of Rights.
