dogs were right across the road
ducks followed
I stood in gear, and then went the feet
it took to park. out. stale bread in hand
the pond was duckfull anyway, and I began to throw
the trees were drinking water farther away, and I could tell
there were spotted fish in the pool
the ducks fighting for gluttony
no one came to visit me
no one came to see me
the afternoon didn't care and went away
my time was frothing, and I lit a tape player
the ducks were fed up and raced fish
I leaned back, and thought what shapes the blue didn't make
the tape recorder stopping
I switched sides, let it run, no sound
and the batteries were fine
