interposition

i wish i could take your position
among the stars, as i know the
timing of nightly revolutions
that you have yet to, young
in the ways of loss and fixed
quadrants. i wish i could
show that time wanes brief
as it passes, like a comet
traveling alone for decades
can flare so shortly in the
earth's orbit. i wish that
we were reversed -- you: rising
nightly as venus, steady ' close
to the sun; i: drifting towards
the milky way from afar, kicked
distant by an unknown nova ' woman.

were you to know the intensity of
our binary was nothing to that
you shall discover.
