"Poem Love"
When you lay eyes on a poem
irresistibly attractive
do you fall in love
or does the poem
fall in love with you?

today you were reborn
you were waiting at the cusp of a new life
today even the polluted air was a fresh breeze
your heart slowed until you couldn’t feel it
everything passed through your sunlit glass
people began singing, who hadn’t been heard
every life you had lived came back to you
being still drew forth your torment
how the warmth of those loved is emptied
what obsessions cannot be found here
you are reminded of everyone lost
why you attach to those so tightly
destruction is your unfinished work
in a moment this too shall pass
come again with an outstretched hand
there is no closure to your life
press this flower as a remembrance
be still, be still if you can take it
this day lies asleep in perfection
your quietude became the whole day
